The First Run: Five Pre-order Pieces From Kathmandu

Five new pieces are on the site now and not one of them is in the warehouse yet. That is deliberate. This is the first run of a small batch being made in Kathmandu, and rather than sit on the photographs until the boxes land, we have opened them to pre-order, with all five expected late August.

It is a tighter drop than usual. Two overalls sharing one cut, and three pieces cut from gheri, the woven stripe that runs through the rest of the batch. Every size is counted, so when one sells out here, it is actually sold out.

One Cut, Printed Two Ways

The Sungrove Overalls and the Duskwood Overalls are the same shape block-printed two ways, so the choice is really about colour. Sungrove is a lime and forest-green checkerboard patchwork, printed by hand with mushrooms, sunbursts and a triple spiral. Duskwood takes the same shape somewhere quieter, in aubergine, olive and rust, hand block-printed with mandala rosettes, flower medallions and small paisley. Both come in Standard and Plus.

Three Pieces From the Same Cloth

Gheri is the woven stripe, and three pieces in this run are cut from it. The Riverstone Gheri Cargo Pants come in a blue and green stripe with a drawstring waist and button-flap cargo pockets on both thighs, sized S through 2XL, which makes them the most size-complete piece in the drop. The Tidewater Gheri Poncho is teal, blue and black, hooded and fringed at the hem, in one size that falls over whatever is underneath. The Moonshroom Gheri Backpack is green gheri cotton, with mushrooms and a crescent moon embroidered on by hand.

The poncho and the backpack were listed in single figures. They are the two to decide on first, not because they are moving quickly, but because there are only a few of each.

Every size is counted, so when one sells out here, it is actually sold out.

What Ordering Ahead Actually Buys You

A pre-order holds your size out of the run before it lands. Everything here is expected late August, and pre-orders ship as soon as the stock lands. If a size disappears from the page in the meantime, that is the count doing its job rather than a listing error.
