Who we are
Identity-driven, not trend-driven.
Hippie Hut is an Australian bohemian clothing brand grounded in self-expression, craftsmanship and character.
We started in 2018 wanting to make a difference, without knowing where to start.
In 2020 we moved to Byron Bay to commit to the business properly and to find the right suppliers. That search is how we met the manufacturer we still work with today. We have since moved back, and have operated from Adelaide ever since.
We create and curate distinctive clothing designed for movement, comfort and individuality, drawn from global artisan traditions, festival culture and relaxed Australian living.
Each piece is chosen with intention, designed to feel lived in, expressive and enduring.
Our makers
Handmade in Nepal.
Every Hippie Hut piece is cut, stitched and finished by hand in the workshops of our partners in Nepal, the same makers we have worked with since 2020.
Patchwork is the clearest example. Offcuts are sorted by colour, cut to shape and joined panel by panel, so no two pieces land exactly the same. Alongside it sits dhaka weaving, worked on a hand loom one row at a time.
Hand-loom cotton, hand-block printing and hemp sit in the same rotation. Each is a slow process, and each leaves a piece slightly different from the one before it.
