Handmade in Nepal, each piece is one of a kind, and small variations between batches are part of the charm.
Handwoven gheri cotton in fine vertical stripes of black, charcoal, grey and off-white, with chains of small white diamonds woven down the black bands. A pointed hood bound in off-white, a short placket with three wooden toggles, wide cape sleeves to the elbow, a big front pouch pocket with a hand opening each side, and a black and white tassel fringe that sits at mid-thigh. Heavy enough to take the chill off a night outside, light enough to pull on over a jumper.

Gheri is woven on narrow looms with whatever thread is on the loom that week, then joined panel by panel. The stripe spacing shifts between ponchos, so yours will not match the photos exactly, and it will not match anyone else's either.
